Ladies when your children come and share issues they may have with your mate, you must listen. Sometimes your boyfriend may actually be attracted to your child and make advances, listen and pay attention. Do not blame your child for the wrong doings of a grown man. Your children are a part of you and you cannot chose a man over your children, especially when they come to you with something that is going on. So many women dump their children for the temporary love and affection of a man. I agree that sometimes our children are not always honest, but please give them the benefit of the doubt.
There are so many children that have been molested by family friends, mother's boyfriend, etc. We as parents must listen to the voices of our children. We are supposed to be their protectors and provide a safe life and haven for them. The worst thing is to allow an intruder to come in and violate our children. Listen to your children and never ignore their voices.
Laverne told her mother that her stepfather was touching her at night when she was sleeping, at age 10 her mother called her a slut and a liar. Laverne would cry herself to sleep because she was scared and felt trapped. Her mother worked two nights a week and left Laverne home with her stepfather and he would smile at her as he kissed her mother good night. Laverne was molested until she was thirteen years old. Her mother kicked her out when she ended up pregnant by her stepfather, and her mother still accused her of lying.
This poor child is ruined for life and she still has to cope with the fact she gave birth to an unwanted child, fathered by her stepfather. Her mother wanted nothing more to do with her and foster care became her permanent home until she came of age. Would her life have been different if her mother would have just listened? One can only wonder.
